DESCRIPTION:

We are seeking an experienced & passionate Pastry Chef to join our team!

By delivering exceptional culinary experiences, we aim to enhance customer satisfaction & foster the growth of our clientele. As such, the ideal candidate for this role should have a strong background in culinary arts & a genuine passion for creating delectable sweet treats. An expertise in preparing a variety of mouth-watering desserts & pastries, combined with a creative flair in developing unique tastes & recipes, will be essential in serving our customers, as is a commitment to upholding the highest health & safety standards at all times.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Preparation of a wide variety of food goods such as cakes, cookies, pies etc. following traditional & modern recipes

• Create new & exciting desserts to keep our menus fresh & engaging for customers

• Decorate pastries using different icings & toppings etc. to ensure beautiful & exciting presentation on every item

• Monitor stocks for baking ingredients such as flour, sugar etc. & make appropriate orders (within budget)

• Check quality of material & condition of cooking equipment & devices

• Guide & motivate other members of kitchen team as a senior member of staff.

• Maintain a clean & orderly cooking station at all times & adhere to highest health & safety standards

REQUIREMENTS & SKILLS:

• Proven experience as a Pastry Chef, Baker or relevant experience in a similar role

• Great attention to detail & creativity

• Excellent organisational & time-management skills

• Willingness to expand professional knowledge (including independent research)

• In-depth knowledge of sanitation principles, food preparation, baking techniques & nutrition

• Working knowledge of baking with ingredient limitations (food options that are gluten-free, sugarless, vegan, etc.)

• Certificate in culinary arts, pastry-making, baking or relevant field desirable
